JudasIscariot: I do like some games in other genres but the entire genre. For example, I like Distant Worlds a lot and I wish we had it here so I could stream it and show it to people as a sort of "basic starter guide from one noob to another" as the UI and the game can be somewhat intimidating to new players at first glance. That and I would show them how to play as the
Ketarov race, which is my favorite to play in the game :)
Sanjuro: "Distant Worlds is a pausable real-time, space grand strategy wargame..."
Sounds intimidating. I'm not sure I'd even get to playing such a game. I mean, it even sounds like it's
huge, and I've merely read its description. Wouldn't mind watching a stream on this one, but I have a feeling it might take quite some time to show even a small portion of the game.
Space dogs, huh? I wonder if the game has space cats as well. :-)
If you can play Crusader Kings II, you can play Distant Worlds Universe :P
I say this because for the longest time I was all thumbs when it came to CKII and then one day it just kind of "clicked" and I can at least play the game decently enough :)
Distant Worlds, with its automation, is a lot easier to get into since you can set the automated parts to ask you for your input regarding a given decision so that you have some control over your game.
The way I play DW:U is I automate everything except for the one thing I would like to learn then I play around with that one aspect until I know what to do, I repeat this process until I am familiar with the interface and then I try to GIT GUD :P
