Marcinkonys: Bah, I'm totally leaning towards "The Guild Gold Edition", since I always wanted to try out a city building game, but I'm worried I might stop playing five minutes later.
That's how it is with RTS games. I wanna try one, buy it and get owned by med AI... This is not an RTS afaik, and it looks pretty fun to play judging by the screens and all the people's opinions here, but still... Is it friendly to those new to the genre?

First off, it is NOT a city building game. It is a "medieval Sims", where you manage the fate of your dynasty.
That said, you'll probably not be owned by the AI, as they only go around doing their business. Of course, there is quite an amount of intrigue involved, but you can also get along well with others.
