Marcinkonys: Bah, I'm totally leaning towards "The Guild Gold Edition", since I always wanted to try out a city building game, but I'm worried I might stop playing five minutes later.
That's how it is with RTS games. I wanna try one, buy it and get owned by med AI... This is not an RTS afaik, and it looks pretty fun to play judging by the screens and all the people's opinions here, but still... Is it friendly to those new to the genre?
Yes, it is very friendly to "newbies".
The game, in my opinion, is slightly mislabeled in the GOG catalogue. It is not an RTS, just a very good life-sim game.
The game features the ability to thrash someone, spy on them for evidence for later framing, the ability to kill your rivals using toad slime, lampoon them with ridiculous limericks, etc etc. The only thing missing in the game is "the oldest profession". I really wish I knew hot mod games because I would so mod that into the game, in a tasteful manner of course.
DrIstvaan: I'm in a bit of a dilemma... I already have Painkiller Black Edition, which runs fine on WinXP and Win7, so I basically don't need it from here.
BUT... it has nice goodies (I really like artworks), and the one-file installer is neat, too.
Hmmm...
Actually, the game has three files, if you download via browser. Not sure how it goes via the downloader since I don't use the downloader myself.
