POLE7645: Has anyone found what was the changes in the previous two patches for The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky? The changelogs stopped at December 2016.

And I'm pretty sure 100 MB patches aren't nothing.
avatar
finkleroy: I'm not entirely certain to which 100 MB patches you refer, but that's roughly the size of the Galaxy client, so the offline installers which contain the Galaxy client are roughly 100 MB larger than the offline installers which do not contain it.
There were two patches released (and the last one is from August 27) and I got both through Galaxy. I don't remember their exact size, but I think they were roughly 100 MB (or maybe more).

Since the changes of both these patches aren't documented, I'm curious.

And somewhere, in an alternate universe: Once a proud vampire lord, Raziel found himself transformed into a soul raver... you know, because he puts a lot of soul into it. I guess it could be a "mixer hero" game of sorts :P.

So, no update flagging for Gateways, Metronomicon, The, Nex Machina and/or Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs, but one for Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2?

While I'm thankful for the Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2 one, it's puzzling which updates GOG decides to warrant a flag and which ones not to.

I have over 1000 games here, and follow this thread everyday.
I think only 20~30% updates got the flag.

I'm aware that few games are flagged for quite some time now, this very thread is proof of this. My post wasn't about that, it's about being unable to understand why and when some updates are flagged and others aren't.

I'm plenty certain that there are many other updates that weren't flagged, the ones I mentioned served only as an example.

I don't have Shattered Haven, so did it even get a changelog, and was it reported in this thread? Because it's not in the game forum.

It was updated last Thursday. Only the Windows build, without a changelog. No idea what the update was about, other than they changed the installer name so it follows the new naming convention.

HypersomniacLive: I don't have Shattered Haven, so did it even get a changelog, and was it reported in this thread? Because it's not in the game forum.
The update for Shattered Haven was reported by muntdefems here. It has no changelog and it is only for the Windows version, but I'm pretty sure the actual version of the game changed from 1.502 or 1.503 to the latest version 1.504.

I've had some problems with the game updating itself to version 1.504 (via Arcen Games inbuilt updater) and Galaxy reverting this back to the older version GOG was distributing in the past, so the game was definitely not the latest version before (even though 1.504 was released more than two years ago according to the official changelog.

Same problem with AI Wars by the way. There the GOG version was even more outdated (about 3 years and more than 20 updates behind) and every time I've asked GOG support to please release an updated installer, they told me that updates for AI War were too frequent for them to always build new installers and I should just use the updater provided by Arcen Games. Now the game is finally updated to the latest version (and only a year after it was originally released...).

edit: I can't post the link to the Shattered Haven changelog directly, because the URL contains a : character and this apparently brakes the URL tag of this forum software...

My feeling is more like less than 10%. I don't like that, but thanks to this thread we have a workaround for the missing flags. So I can live with it. What bothers me much more is that a lot of the game updates still come without a changelog entry. My feeling is more than half of them, just scroll back a few pages and count the "[NO CHANGELOG]" entries in muntdefems' posts... And it's much harder or often not even possible to find out what has changed.

I know the update was reported a few days ago, I was asking specifically about a changelog because I didn't, and don't, remember one. But looking at that update with what DoctorGOGgles said in mind, it'd appear that the Windows installer, asides the name change, also updated to v.1.504. And taking a look at the changelog - good grief, that version was released back in January 5, 2015; it took GOG only 2.5+ years to get the standalone installers up to date.

Emm... let me see if I got this right - you used the inbuilt updater, and updated the game to v.1.504, a more than 2yrs old build, and then Galaxy... downdated it to whatever version it considered the latest, which is a more than 3yrs old build. Is this it?
Sounds like "use Galaxy to get the latest patches a.s.a.p." doesn't exactly apply to all new(er) games, in spite it being advertised and pushed as the cure for everything, the common cold included. Yes, I'm exaggerating, but why wasn't the latest build/patch in the Galaxy channel? Don't the devs have access to it? If so, why not? Or have they decided not to use it, and why?

But I'm sure they apologised for the inconvenience, didn't they?

Keeping the standalone installers outdated for such long times, just goes to show how much GOG actually cares about their customers that use the standalone installers, and their experience. Not that this comes as a surprise or revelation at this point.
