Not sure if there's a bug with the automated replies to support tickets, or if this was just a single glitch - I submitted a support ticket on Nov 15, 2015, and received two automated emails with two different ticket numbers assigned to my ticket (J9KIZQOX and 2536J0H2).

Did you accidentally click the "Send" button twice? What you are describing in your post usually happens when the "Send" button is clicked twice in rapid succession :)

I'm too old to still manage such rapid mouse-click successions, even if I tried. ;-)

Well, I am not getting into the whole age debate but I believe the system must've registered the "Send" button being pressed twice which is why you had two different ticket numbers for the same ticket :) In any case, this shouldn't be a regular occurrence :)

Why not put a timeout on the button that if it's clicked twice in under 1 second then it registers only the first time.

I'm surprised to hear that's even possible, I thought the process is open the support page, fill out the form, click send-button, get confirmation page, process complete.
Perhaps the system needs a bit of reconfiguration, like as soon as it registers a click, the button greys out and doesn't allow a second click, accidental or not, before the system loads the confirmation page.
OK, I think the notification system has gone completely bonkers.

As of about an hour ago, I'm receiving notifications for both messages I've sent, and posts I've made. And I'm not talking just about the flag next to my Account tab:
-- Got a "1" notification next to the name of the user I had sent a message a bit earlier, switched to that user, and the last message was my own.
-- Got a "New reply" gear to a thread I had just posted in, clicked on it, and was sent to my very own post.

Fun times!

At least the notification happens to me as well now and again....

So I'm not the only one being told to go check my own messages and posts. Good, hate to be alone in crazy situations.

The post thing hasn't happened to me (yet?) but i was told multiple times to check my own chat messages, which is annoying to say the least...

To be fair, this was the first time for me, and hopefully the last one too.

The chat notification is going on for more than a month. The really annoying thing is that while I get notifications for my own messages, I often don't get notifications for messages that were actually sent to me. And when the users that sent them go offline it's incredibly easy to miss them for days, even weeks. I just found out about one that was sent to me almost three weeks ago.

Hopefully...

Yes. That's exactly the same happening to me. But it's not happening all the time for me. It's pretty irregular...

True, it is.

I have another issue, also pretty irregular.

I get a message notification, I open my chat, and land on the conversation I last sent a message, not the one I last received one, even if my message is older than the one I received.

Has this happened to you?

Yup. That has happened to me as well - once or twice...
Could it be a HTTP/HTTPS issue? Had this issue months ago and it was related to the HTTP/HTTPS switch...
