Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

Wolfsherz: Galaxy keeps deleting installed games after updating itself. This sucks, as I had the whole 26G of Witcher 3 downloaded already, now it's all gone. WTF.

On a side note: I use a folder witin the Galaxy-Client to install games to (E:\GalaxyClient\Installed Games\)
If this is causing this issue FIX IT (please).
Is it like with specific games? It never happened to me so I'm curious.

Goldbrand: Hi Mark

Thanks for the reply. I can confirm that this definitely did not happen previously.

I create a backup of my game installation folders so I know that the "redist" folder did not exist prior to activating the "Manage" -> "Import Folder" routine.

Please have a look at the attached screenshot. You can see the backup 7z archive on the right (created on 5 Apr 2014), which only has 2 folders in it, "bin" and "data". On the left you can see my current Risen installation folder, which has the "redist" folder that was DL'ed only a few hours ago.

Thanks.
It's Marko not Mark but nevermind :)
Of course the redist folder wasn't created before because it's an Galaxy exclusive thing. In the GOG Installer the redist package also is CONTAINED but will only be INSTALLED when needed. That is the reason you cannot see a specific folder if you install the game "normally" (theredistributables are hidden in the INstall packages). If you are using Galaxy however the content of the Installer (because there is no real Installer anymore only the contained files) will be downloaded into the game folder and the new redist folder. If you start the game it checks if it still needs redistributables and in that case starts them out of the redist folder. As I told you it is exact the same way it works on Steam.

It happened after each update of the Client with all installed games.

There is a saying: If you lose data once it's their fault, if you lose data twice it's yours. ;)
Galaxy is still a beta and problems should be no surprise. At least it doesnt go all bumblebee on your hard drive ;)*

But I agree, this behaviour should be fixed soon.

Hope you will not suffer this again ;)

That is what is causing the issue actually (previously discussed in the thread and confirmed by GOG). For the time being you will need to install games to another directory such as E:\GOG Games instead to avoid this problem as the GalaxyClient directory was intended only for the client itself and wasn't anticipated that people would try to install their games in there. People have been though and it has come up a number of times that it seems like many people will do it not realizing this and so it will become a real problem even if it isn't intended to be used that way. As a result GOG previously mentioned they will investigate a solution to make Galaxy less ambitious about how it goes about deleting it's own directory contents, but people should not rely on that for now until they actually update the program to resolve this unexpected situation.

Nonetheless they have acknowledged the problem and their intent to try to fix it in the future.

Yes, this is causing the issue - you've installed apps (games) inside another app installation folder (Galaxy). This creates a dependency so that whatever happens with the Galaxy folder can affect all your installed games inside.

We will make changes to the updater soon to avoid situations where Client update will wipe non-Client files inside folder owned by the Client, but I'd still suggest not to organise your library this way. There are quite a lot of other things that could go wrong with such setup...

SoullessMadness: Question... Are the achievements working??? I've been playing Witcher 2 for a while...so far i haven't earned anything.
They aren't working for me either, guess this feature doesn't work yet in the current Galaxy release.

Alright, thank you and skeletonbow.

I will now use another folder-setup.
I just got an update to version 1.0.1.917. What's new in this release?

Also, a place to view changelogs for each update would be nice.
Changelog for 1.0.1.917?
you can't configure an other language at the begining.
It always download english and after the install, you can "re-download" in french for example.

On a small game it ok, but on witcher 3 (24Go) it isn't.
Is there a way to increase my download speeds? im going onto my third day and i only have 10GB/26GB downloaded for The Witcher 3. Is it just this game, or is an average 0.1mb/sec the speed i can expect all my purchases to download at?

With the Galaxy client and infrastructure being beta, it's just a side effect of that I believe. This will improve over time as the software improves and their server/CDN infrastructure scales for Galaxy as well. If you find it too slow and would rather try to get it faster you might want to try using the website to download instead or the GOG Downloader links. I'm getting great speeds with GOG Downloader right now personally (3MB/s).

They're probably working overtime and burning the midnight oil every day on both the website and Galaxy to try to get everything as solid and reliable as possible for the Witcher 3 launch day, but things are a little crazy right now. :) I think part of that too is that they're encountering incredible popularity and growth probably beyond their wildest predictions and trying to rise to the challenge. :) They'll be bruised and beaten in the end, with some patches of hair missing but stronger for it I imagine. :) Let us know if the website downloads or GOG Downloader gives you better speeds.
So far GOG Galaxy is a huge disappointment. It only recognises four of my games and so that means I have to manually point it in the direction of my other 175 games one by one. Fine, I thought I'd at least try on a couple of games, but there's no menu option for that. It basically wants me to redownload and reinstall every single game but the last four. No way!

Since I visit GOG.com daily anyway I'll just update manually when needed. I just wish we could keep the GOG downloader, which actually works these days.

Hopefully all of this will be ironed out before the proper release of GOG Galaxy, but seems the "automatic recognition of previously installed games" won't be a feature, which means I'm out. :(
