I've never heard of these games though, so I can't recommend (or the other way 'round) them.
lol, just watched some youtube videos for those games, and couldn't make heads or tails of what was going on.
Just got a twit from Vertigo Games that its Gamersgate versions will be getting a price cut too, so stay tuned!

-edit- Yup Gamersgate already reflects the price changes.

And in other news, you can now pre-order Driftmoon at 20% off! /fistpump

OddBoxx has also had a price cut. I think this is the same for other DD outlets though.

Does anyone know if this works the same way as the disc version, where the patch removes the DRM?

I have the Collectors Ed of Supcom and I don't remember it having any intrusive DRM. I think there's SecuROM but it didn't require authentication :P

I already have the discs, and the DRM is definitely not intrusive after the first install + (official) patch, since SecuROM is actually removed at that point! I was wondering if the GG version retains SecuROM even if it's fully patched.

The only reason I'd rebuy it is if it would also still be DRM free after the updates and I'd have digital access to it as well.

Usually DRM-free patches will effectively patch out the DRM from any version. The only problem would be the version numbers and ensuring that you can patch the GG version.

On that note, GG might actually provide the patch themselves. It might be worth asking them.

But the disc version is DRM-free after the update...

Yeah I know but I still need the discs to start the process. If I'm traveling or I pack them away or whatever it would be nice to have it available.

Well looks like their support page is down so I can't even ask them.

Have you tried Twitter? Yeah, I know. But they're apparently very quick to respond through that.

They're an EU company so they'll probably be asleep right now. In fact, on that note...

Wow here too. Guess it was a mistake or a regretful price. Or it's already gone?
