yogsloth: Lying as a player is sweet, beautiful, golden music.

Lying as the moderator should be punishable by having your stuffed animals peed on and set on fire.
You probably shouldn't play any game I ever mod then... I'm not above lying to the players (as long as it's still fun for everyone, probably).

I think we need clarity on hosting order from the Don.

I guess I will go ahead and host (probably the 11 version but we'll see how signups look) rather than passing to flub, but need confirmation that we're going to go ahead and bypass sage/agent.

If Leonard wants to prompt agent to pop in at least to speak to his availability, that would be swell.

Well you can put this one in the bank: I'll never do it (on purpose, anyway, screwing up notwithstanding).

If you play one of my games, you may not understand why something has happened if the reason isn't publicly available, but there will always be a reason generated by specific player action.

As moderator, it's your job to wind up the game at the start, switch it on, and then let it go.

There should never, ever, ever be any instance where you insert yourself into the decision-making.

No dice rolls. No judgement calls. No hidden rules known only to you where you get to lie to the players and ignore them.

Set up the rules correctly, and then step out.

(Note that inserting yourself into the flavor and "winning" your own game is A-OK!)

I have PMed both Sage103082 and agentcarr16, but have yet not received any response from them.

As Vitek pointed out, I had over 200 posts in game #25.

What a blabbermouth moderator!!!

Marvelous. You've done great work - you should really start taking a larger cut of the haul.

Oh, I don't mean banter.

Depending on your style, that can be just fine. :) I toned it down a bit in this last one, but Mariah could have easily been throwing out random insults and jokes all game long.

I'm strictly speaking about actual, technical, in-game mechanics.

BAH, I shouldn't have voted you that last day, I knew better! GAH!

I'm not sure I agree on no dice rolls, though I do think you need to be careful with that.

But when I say I might lie to players I mean more in a fixed set out way that could be explained at the end of the game (not just deciding to give someone a false result halfway through the game for fun). I'd give an example but it might spoil the fun if I later decide to use it ;)
I'm not totally opposed to dice-rolls for specific events (like if deadline hits and no lynch is achieved, randomly rolling a kill, if setup/balance/flavor permits, or choosing between inactivity-punishments from a pre-determined set.)

First we must draw the circle of blue flame...

Since I'm 99.9% sure he won't be hosting, maybe I can steal his spot? I'm guessing those later in the list wouldn't be so thrilled about that though.
My ever-so-helpful brother just reminded me that I'm up next on the hosting list.

Yeah... That's not gonna happen.

I'd love to host when I get a chance, but now is not the time. I'd prefer not to forfeit my spot to my scummy sibling, but you can skip me for now and let whoever's next run their game.

I think I'd be ready to host in about a month, but not really any sooner. Sorry all :-/

That admittedly would've been pretty entertaining.

Ya well, who asked you anyhow?

So how would you like to have the spot after bler144 and before me??
