yogsloth: Yeah, I think there's not much funny about lying to the players as moderator. Pretending to give players night actions and then simply ignoring them due to something as capricious and unfair as time stamp - and not explaining any of that - sucks. Sucks hard.

bler144: Technically if you parsed Lift's PM responses carefully, there were hints there. For example, I left my room, I had a gun - had to abort when I heard other gunfire. So it was clear that someone's kill got off before mine, and it was down to trying to puzzle out why.

That's basically what I spent all of D2 doing, and it panned out.

Which is, you know, why my team totally won that game.

Oh, no wait, we lost to the team that didn't get a single kill off and just lurked to victory by letting all the other teams blow each other up. ;)
Ixam kept so much information from us it's amazing we ended up winning. He indicated he though it might be timed based, but didn't share his PM info which would have lent credibility to his suspicion. He took the first 2-3 kill shots. We also didn't know he was a ninja or had limited use of the flip altering. Bler, when you stated in the game that we each had a ninja, I honestly thought you were lying.

Oh and I believe we got the kill the first night. :-p

Lol - that's hilarious. :)
With the event approaching, it's struck me that launching a game is a bit like sending a child off to college.

You've worked hard to raise them right, you think they're brilliant and talented. Oh, the places they'll go! So much pride at the greatness that lies ahead.

Yet somewhere, deep down, you're a bit afraid they're going to end up being forever known mostly as the kid who got plastered and took a dump in the dorm microwave, then failed out after the first semester.

Sounds like a great kid.

Dessimu: Imagine a game where everyone bribes mod and in turn, does whatever they want. Oh, that sweet chaos... And so much pizza for mod... With pineapples and all.
Sounds like a sweet idea!

adaliabooks: I'm not sure I agree on no dice rolls
Of course you don't! That's your thing after all :D But seriously, I guess it depends on the situation but I don't like the idea of the side that is making brilliant plays to lose just because luck wasn't on their side. OR! This has be known in advance. The only thing that balances out RNG to some extent in my opinion is providing the players with the knowledge on how things operate so they can assess their chances for success and decide whether or not to make a riskier play for a larger reward or go for the easy choice and get peanuts.

agentcarr16: I think I'd be ready to host in about a month, but not really any sooner. Sorry all :-/
avatar
flubbucket: So how would you like to have the spot after bler144 and before me??
That sounds dandy, as long as bler144 takes about a month for his game.
officially bler's turn! sucks to lose a host (sage), but hopefully they'll be back!

noting that krypsyn, flubb, JMich, cristigale, and Ixamyakxim are not on the "to notify" list

though I hear krypsyn is "special"

Yes, I miss her too. Let's hope she'll be back some day soon.
But whatever the next game is: im not in this time. I just don't have the time and nerves at the moment to contribute and I don't want to lurk again. But I'll be happy to observe or to look over the setup for balancing, before it starts.

With Lift/yogs/agent all sitting out this round, and I suspect HSL as well, it's seeming pretty certain I'll be doing the 11 player setup. I'd be shocked if it takes a month - 2-3 weeks is where I'd put the probability.

I'll go ahead and write a sign-up announcement, but I won't post it until I get the all clear from above. Don't want to overstep my bounds and give a whole new meaning to "mod killed."

And yes, that's probably the worst pun I've ever made.

Slacker. You're not going to win any sort of "Worst Pun" awards if that's all the effort you're willing to put in!

Heh, now I fell like real old person (and I am still in my 20s - for less than 2 weeks:-)).
That's like in RL. I have lost so many mafia friends to time that one extra is just another shrug of shoulders for me instead of mourning she is not playing with us anymore. :-)
