Sorry peeps, I see we have a Crisis Event in full swing, but I woke up sick this morning, and am fighting a temperature all day long.
I will try to catch up, and hopefully be back later with something game-related.

EBWOP: I miscounted. (I forgot I quoted the original claim first) it's six people that I quoted so with me and crow and jmich on top, that is 9 people out of 16 indicating 17 as a lowest stat is too high to be believable.

JMich: Quite the opposite, we do care what you think. We will most likely ignore it, but that is a different case ;)
Ha! I stand corrected! One point I would make is that I am not so easily convinced the mission will succeed if there are bad guys on board. I don’t know anything about “Battlestar Galactica the Board Game”, but here, I think it’s all about individual players’ styles. If I were Scum, I could not have volunteered for this job fast enough just for the chance to fuck shit up and see what happens… and yeah, LAMIST, I get it, but damn, for real, you know? You know I would. Despite the optics, I gotta say it, because it’s why I won’t assume that a) just taking volunteers is all you need to consider to fill the job with Townies, and b) the mission will succeed regardless of who’s on it. I sorta feel like saying “I’m sure the mission will be a success” out loud is a possible way for one Scumbuddy to send some advice to his pal on the team. Call me paranoid. Since I believe the player selecting the team must be Town (and ineligible to participate himself), I think the best strategy is to ignore the volunteers and the stat reveals and pick based on Towniness. Which, granted, is nearly impossible Day 1, hence why nobody will care anyway!
dedoporno: That was one potential way to catch scum lying - by claiming stats that don't seem consistent to actual crew members.
Gee, who was trying to say that same thing at the very beginning, before people could mess it up?Krypsyn

Like I said, and you quoted: "I have spoken about the contents of my PM without inaccuracy throughout the entire thread."
That is not contained in my my PM, and I never said it was.
Yep.
Predictable.
That is not contained in my my PM, and I never said it was.
mchack: (that means I'm expecting a 7?7 (probably 757 or 747) in stats from you) or is the only thing you indirectly told the truth about from your pm, that you have a FIN stat?
It was in reference to my forum reputation at that time. Ignoring this is just being willfully obtuse. Yep.
mchack: Just to mess with everybody's assumption a player's post would be about the game we are playing together at that moment?
Partly. It was also my way of saying "Look, here are some obviously bullshit stats, can we stop talking about this now?" to the other town players. Some players seemed to get it; interesting that you did not. mchack: So whatever you say as long as you don't directly (or obliquely) mention your PM I should just disregard as it's probably not really game related anyway? At least if you're talking about yourself that is.
Well, you could always ask for clarification. You never did ask the right questions. mchack: I'm sorry, I like that you actually took the time to answer my questions and I like that you said that you were only telling the truth. But when I think about it, you say you haven't actually said anything about your PM ever (apart from saying you have a FIN stat), so therefore it can't possibly be a lie.
Hence why I said "Sounds fun." when you threatened to go after me for LAL reasons. It was highly amusing to me, since there was no possible way I could lose that argument. Predictable.

I'm not so sure about scum volunteering to make the crisis fail this early on. If the crisis fails then everyone on the list looks suspect and will be under a lot of scrutiny. Now as JMich suggested, scum volunteering to help avert the crisis to win town points I could see as a more likely option. One point I would make is that I am not so easily convinced the mission will succeed if there are bad guys on board. ok, here it goes:

Why do you assume that it will always be the same player who chooses? Why do I have the feeling that you are somehow a mind reader? Could it be that I hadn't mentioned that part before, but only in the post after yours? Or are my memory banks failing me?

I like to ask about the 'Why' more than the 'What'. Often in Mafia, in my experience, why someone does something is far more important than what they do. But that is always the trick, isn't it? Figuring out motivations can be challenging.
I don't know about that. I had fun. :)
Okay. This wasn't a question, but it was the right one. I wasn't actually expecting someone to question me on why my vote is still on yogsloth until closer to a deadline. ;)
The simple answer is that I did have a reason to vote for yogsloth, and I still have the same reason (with some positive reinforcement). Nobody else seems scummier to me currently.
