LaPtiteBete: You're too modest :-D
And I couldn't throw Moon in the Oubliette... who will work on my simulations and crazy machines if she's not in the Lab anymore... ? :-|
Thanks for your lovely wishes, wonderful DD... !! I hope you'll have a great week too...
**Enormous happy hug**
avatar
ddickinson: I do not think I am too modest, but people keep telling me that.

Moon can still work on your machines, as you have a special lab set up in the Oubliette. :-)

My week will mostly be spent at work (lots of paperwork to do at the moment, especially tax related stuff, but at least I get to chat on the forum more), but this Sunday we (me and my partner) are volunteering at the children's hospice again for the day on Sunday. We will be doing some Shakespeare and borrowing a karaoke machine to do some singing. It should be fun, and a little sad, for the obvious reasons.

avatar
LaPtiteBete: It won't feel awkward... this story is sad, for sure... but you'r the first one to tell anybody that this thread is here to talk about everything... good things, life's sh*ts.... (plus, most of us already know about it... so it won't feel awkward...) ; but you decide :-) and if you chose to tell it again, well ; we'll post twice more funnier messages afterward to get our mind off things ;-)
**Big crushing hug**

ddickinson: I just do not like people feeling uncomfortable, or worrying what to say. I also am not a fan of getting sympathy, especially when people have things a lot worse than me and they deserve the sympathy. I did mention it briefly a few posts back, but I don't think I will ever mention it again in detail.

avatar
ElTerprise: Okay - thank you for letting me know *another big hug* :)
avatar
ddickinson: You could have at least said sorry once. I had a German mankini all ready for you. :-)

avatar
moonshineshadow: What?
*confused hugs* I think you mixed something up here ;-)
avatar
ddickinson: Well who else would it be? You are in charge of if I can buy games or now, of people's avatars and forum titles, and almost everything else. It's clear that you are the boss here. If not you then who?
What you're doing for those kids is awesome and admirable. I couldn't do that. And I have seen some crazy things :/
avatar
moonshineshadow: *lalalala* I can't hear what you are saying.
*complete denial*
Nope not the boss here :P
avatar
ddickinson: But who will be the boss if not you? :-)
I am sure you'll find someone suitable for that job ;-)
avatar
l0rdtr3k: Still sleepy...
And only work and Everquest planned for today.
Perhaps Owl will have some spare coffee for you to help wake you up. :-)

avatar
ElTerprise: Well I'm not the mankini wearing type but i can do it for today - if i have to :)
I was only joking, but if you are that keen to wear one then go ahead. But I am not sure how your university will react. :-)

Soccorro: What you're doing for those kids is awesome and admirable. I couldn't do that. And I have seen some crazy things :/
Thank you, but you give me too much credit. I do not do much, I just try to cheer them up a little by being silly, talking to them, reading with them (we are doing some scenes from Shakespeare, which they are looking forward to), and some singing, which I hope will not be horrible modern kids pop songs, but as they are kids I am sure it will be.

How are you today?

Hey, no... The Oubliette is only a dark, cold, humid and full of spiders stony hole where you throw disobedient people. My high tech lab is clean, bright, quite cosy... and on top of our villains Tower...
Ho... you go at the Children's Hospice again :) ... you do a great job here... tough, but great...

I don't think anyone should "compare" this kind of things... who lived the worst things... who deserve the most sympathy... nope !! we all deserve care and sympathy, and you deserve them too, no matter what you think n__o ... but it's totally understandable that you don't want to bring this back here, though. Anyway... **Enormous friendly hug** !!

Lol !! What is the story with these mankinis... you force everyone who is not kind enough with you to wear one ?...
avatar
moonshineshadow: I am sure you'll find someone suitable for that job ;-)
How about Agent, he seems like he would make a cool boss?

Or Endre, but I would be worried about the women's uniforms he would expect us all wear. :-)

I would say Owl, but she is too busy collecting stars.

While Agent might make a cool boss, I fear that he would change the food requirements here to everyone eating peanut butter and that would be quite bad ;-)

Endre would probably make a nice boss, but I am sure he already is pretty busy with all the nurses, cheerleaders etc he is keeping in his basement :D

And you are right, owl needs time for her world ruling, star collection plan :P

So... who else...

Crow made this thread, but maybe as boss would force us all to play horrible games?

Ah yes, what about you? :P

ddickinson: Of course you have been here, this is your thread. The place would not be the same without you here. I see you as the creator, and Moon as the boss. :-)
If I hadn't made it, someone else would have, and all a thread is without people in it is a lifeless construct.

Very much understandable regarding the micromanagement. Just got through doing that, and it's a combination of not at all fun and obnoxiously time consuming. Not a good mix for a person without a lot of free time on their hands.

Yep, everyone is wrong, and I am not too modest. :-)

Me and my partner will be doing some scenes form Shakespeare's Henry V, with me doing the part of King Henry V, and my partner doing some of the other characters. We are going to see if the kids want to do some of the dialogues, which they seemed keen to do. The only scene I want to do with just me and my partner is the Act 4, Scene 3, where the King is addressing Montjoy, the French herald. Mainly as this scene is supposed to be done with some anger and raised voices, and I would not like to do that with one of the kids. We will only do a little bit of it, if they like it we will try to pick a different act or scene from his plays each time, but it depends on how the kids enjoy it. I am sure they will like Act 4, as it has some really nice speeches in it, like the band of brothers speech. I got the idea from Fearful's mention of Shakespeare, and the kids seemed to like the idea.

But surly it is for each individual person to decide their worth when it comes to things like sympathy? I have worked at an abuse clinic (sexual and physical) for a while, and some of the things I saw were just terrible, and to me, they deserve more sympathy than I ever will. Luckily I was only doing the job for a short time to help a friend out, I do not think I could have worked there full time, especially after seeing a few of the women and even some of the children try, and sadly, occasionally succeed in committing suicide. Not a very nice thing to see at all, especially walking in on the children afterward. Sorry, that was probably a little too morbid. I will shut up about that stuff now.

*big return hug*

LaPtiteBete: Lol !! What is the story with these mankinis... you force everyone who is not kind enough with you to wear one ?...
To be honest I have no idea, I can't remember how it all started, I think it was something to do with Endre. Would you prefer they wear something else as punishment? :-)

Soccorro: I'm good, and you?
Glad to hear it. I am good as well, thank you. Just doing some tax returns and other boring government documents.

What about me? I am not boss material. If I was, I would make you the boss and then resign. :-)
