As the topic says: Game installs fine on my Windows 7 machine but the game wont run in fullscreen mode regardless of what settings I choose with the accompanying settings program.

The game worked perfectly when I first bought it here on GoG a few years ago. I've since upgraded my computer and now the game wont work.
I use the latest ATI drivers and I've tried updating (and even downgrading) DirectX.

Since the game uses dosbox I havent fiddled around with the usual compatibility options.

No replies..Heartwarming, or just unlucky!

ANyways, I used Oracle Virtual Box to create a Windows XP enviroment in which to install Zork Nemesis.
It gave the same error message as above.

Not sure if that will help or not...I just want to play Zork Nemesis on my system :( 'sniff* :(

Try running the Graphic Mode Setup in the game's directory and change Graphic Mode to OpenGL.

As for DirectX, you can't really downgrade it, but only update or complete it with older components. Lots of games demand older components of DirectX 9 so make sure you have them installed:

Try lowering your screen resolution to x768 or x720. Then try to run it fullscreen. Some DOSBox games have issues running at 1080 on a native resoultion.
Ok...So for reasons beyond my control I had to format and reinstall Windows 7..Lo and behold I can now play Zork Nemesis without problem.
