Want to run Zork Nemesis as a native Windows application? Look no further!

First, download the 1.1 patch. It is useless for the DOS version but the Windows one will gain subtitles which you can toggle.

Additionally, the patch includes an updated executable, which is what you'll need to run the Win95 version. Extract the Addon folder and znemesis.exe to your Zork Nemesis install directory.

Now grab Pan Relief, a program created by Ken Schafer. Simply run it in the background while playing Zork Nemesis to automatically limit the panning speed. The ideal settings for me were as follows:

Sides: 0 - 130 - 510
Speed: 1%

You will also have to go the Preferences screen in game and set the rotation speed to Fast, which seems to give the best speed results. Sadly, up/down panning will still be broken, but the game is very playable all the same.

Lastly, open ZNEMESIS.INI and look for the following line:

LineSkipVideo=0

Change it from 0 to 2.

Now run znemesis.exe and enjoy the game with a fully-functional sidebar, bearable panning speeds, subtitles and cleaner videos!

I don't recommend loading DOS saves in the Windows version, the game could go unstable when you interact with something. A clean start is the best choice.
