Cheers

As far as I know the Terminal won't output any errors. It gives FPS info and I think the devs have a way to use it. Errors are mostly stored in the logs. I haven't check the log location from a GoG install, but I think it's the same for GoG and Steam (not Proton) of "~/.config/unity3d/Tiny Trinket Games/Zoria - Age of Shattering/"

I don't recall any issues with the font when testing on my Steam Deck (Proton or Native). I haven't tested the latest Demo on GoG though so...
I tagged someone in the Discord who uses Linux Mint and plays from GoG install. Hopefully they jump on here, but if I see a reply from them on Discord I'll cross-post it for you.

EDIT 12/08/2022: A Steam Deck user and Linux Mint user on Discord have reported all look normal on their machines. When did you download that build? 0.4.8 is the latest build of the game, which includes a MAJOR memory reduction patch. You really need to get the 0.4.8 build which should be what the latest beta is...if not please post back so the devs can work with GoG to update this.

Thanks for the reply, @techieg33k, particularly for the log file location!
I have just installed the latest version, nothing has changed, though. BTW: I noticed GOG only offers Version 0.46 while Steam has version 0.47. The Steam version works fine.

GOG version:
The log file contains over 5800 references to the missing file "sharedassets0.assets.resS".

Example:
"Could not open file /home/<user>/Games/gog/zoria-age-of-shattering-demo/game/Zoria AoS_Data/sharedassets0.assets.resS for read
async texture load: failed to load Default-Particle from /home/<user>/Games/gog/zoria-age-of-shattering-demo/game/Zoria AoS_Data/sharedassets0.assets.resS"

This file can indeed not be found in the given path. There are many similarly named files, e.g. "sharedassets1.assets.resS".
So, I assume my installation from GOG is somewhat incomplete (installed via Lutris).

Cheers

I tagged the programmer on this one, as I am not too sure about the missing file notice. Between that and the version difference it makes me wonder....

I am also aware the the game version (as seen on the main screen) is different than the save database (as shown on the Save screen) .

You are running the native Linux version in Steam, right? Not the Proton. By default it should be trying to load the native version, but thought I had better ask.

Also, are you a Kickstarter backer with the extended demo?

Thanks again for the reply. I tried to add some inline quoting but the forum software couldn't process my quotes, so here goes from top to bottom:

Both the Steam (0.47) and the GOG (0.46) version update the same log file. When playing the GOG version, the log file lists over 5800 errors regarding the missing "sharedassets0.assets.resS". When starting the Steam version, the log is being overwritten and there's not a single occurrence of "sharedassets0.assets.resS" in the log file.

I didn't notice before but yes, there's a version mismatch in the Steam version.

I use the native version of both, Steam and GOG. Haven't played much yet, though.

Nope, not a backer. I discovered Zoria here on GOG and added it to my wishlist.

Cheers
I brought this up in the Zoria Discord and the programmer got back to me that he was going to work on getting the GOG version fully updated to match the Steam version and hopes that will fix this issue for you. Once it is updated to 0.4.7 he will let me know and then I'll be back here to let you know :)

Thank you for catching this for them!

DISCLOSURE: I am a mod on the Discord; otherwise I'm just a longtime fan.

Thanks for taking the time, much appreciated!

I have uploaded the Player.log file to my Nextcloud, maybe it can be of use:

Unless I've missed it, there's no notification whatsoever about new messages in this forum. Therefore it's possible that it takes me a few days before responding.

Great. I'll let the team know about the log location.

I have marked this post as a favorite and then when I got to GoG.com I see a dot next to Community which gets me to look at the forum. I wish notifications were better than that.
I was told last night the game files should be updated. I haven't had a chance to check this myself. Let me know!

Thanks, @techieg33k!

I downloaded and installed the updated version 0.47, works well so far. Beautiful screenshot attached.

Please extend my thanks to the dev, too.

Cheers

EDIT:
Cannot attach screenshot of 1.2MB, it just won't appear.

Great to hear! I hope you enjoy it. Please feel free to make a new post with any feedback and I'll ensure that gets passed along as well!

Bummer...at least your enjoying it even if I can't see the screenshot.

I passed along your message to the dev team :)
