I've noticed that Ziggurat is not telling the player if a new character is unlocked after the criteria is met. After the player dies, they are supposed to be notified of a new character by the "cards" that are shown in the results screen. The only way a player can know if new character is available is in the character selection screen.
So has anyone else encountered this issue? I've just unlocked another character, but the game never informs the player about it at all. The character just "appears" in the character selection screen.
I have unlocked all but 2 characters, and all of them were properly shown in the results screen...

The same here. I'm playing on Win7.
Could it be by any chance that you left the game *before* dying ? Because it happened to me in that case. The game bugged during the final battle against the Examiner, I fell through the ground out of the Ziggurat and in the endless void, so I quit but when I came back I had a bunch of new characters unlocked...

That didn't happen to me. But I've noticed that when I play a round that lasts a long time it will unlock two characters at once after I die, but it won't show any character cards in the Results screen. So I'll have no idea any characters were unlocked. I'm wondering if that is what's causing the bug. Because if I play a short round and die early, and then unlock one character like Corvus, then the game will show me the character card in the Results screen.
Oh OK, maybe characters unlocked in lower floors aren't displayed, only the ones that are unlocked on the floor where you died/won. Maybe the same happens to me then, I just didn't notice, especially because of the "void bug" I encountered, which already unlocked many characters. I will be on my guard in my future games...

EDIT : Oh and btw, just to get an idea of how GOG forums work, did you get a notification of my reply ? Because it seems there's no notification if "new post" is clicked instead of "reply", so I use to click reply now but I'm wondering if it's quoting previous posts that trigger the notification or simply clicking reply. The latter would be better, since there's often no need to quote previous messages...

I'm hoping the new patch will fix most of the issues. It's supposed to at least fix the weird saving issue.

Also, if I remember correctly, I don't think the GOG forums have ever had the ability to notify the user of posts that weren't a direct reply. If you just create a new post in an existing thread, it won't notify anyone. But since you've directly replied to my previous post in this thread, that's how I got the notification about the reply.
OK, so it's not quoting but rather clicking reply that triggers a notification. Which means you should not have been notified for this message, since I clicked "new post" :D
