Does anyone know a way to unlock Endless mode without beating Normal, like by editing some file? I’ve beaten the game on Easy with every character, but I fail to beat in on Normal. Even if I get a good build, the final boss usually is my death on Normal. I’m now at a point where my interest in the game is waning, because I’ve unlocked all cards (except for a dozen), and cannot make any more progress. I feel that playing Endless mode might give me another boost of interest in the game before I move on to something else.

Have a look at C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\Milkstone Studios\Ziggurat

There you can find various editable xml files. unlock_data.xml is probably what you're looking for :)

I edited the file, changing the according values from "false" to "true", but it had no effect. Maybe there is some kind of double check to prevent this. Oh well. But thanks for the hint.

Did you try it with the corresponding character or another character, because I think the endless mode is inherent to each character you unlock it with. I could be wrong, though.
Yes, I tried it with two specific characters, but the Hard and Endless mode for these two characters were still locked in the game.
Late but I'm looking at figuring this out now, here's what I know about unlocking things:

1. In unlock_data.xml change all the "false" to "true."
2. In awards.xml, change all the "false" to "true." Change all the dates that read 01/01/0001 to today or something.

This will unlock everything but endless/hard (and, I've found after playing a couple of games this will even unlock the related achievements). This mode is not in unlock_data.xml nor is it in awards. stats.xml has a few about endless, but it's only a counter of how many times you have played. Changing games_won values to 1 doesn't seem to unlock it for any class. Same with weapon_stats.xml
