PaterAlf: Changelog for update 13 build 20152711 /GOG-5 (Windows) / GOG-3 (Mac) (added 27 November 2015):
- This is an update for the Windows & Mac versions of Ziggurat.
- This update fixes an issue with the main title page and not being able to get past it unless the user had internet access.
The second item is what saw me return the game on 14 November and, honestly, as fun as the game was when I played it the first time -literally, one session because I played it at work where I have internet access and when I got home, where I did not have internet access until two weeks ago, the game would not function in accordance with that second item- this sort of issue makes me incredibly wary. GOG is a DRM free storefront, making this sort of thing unacceptable to begin with
and I cannot help but question how this sort of issue happened: just what sort of coding problem generated the issue and, all things considered, how could such an issue even be triggered in the first place.
I initially purchased the title on sale for $4.49 and that was quite the discount. Given the way this problem appears I cannot help but refuse to pay a higher price. Would I like to give the game another shot? Sure thing; it was really fun during that one and only play session. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask that the developing parties convince me and others like myself that it's worth giving another shot. This sort of issue should not have happened in the first place and especially with GOG.
