Game settings are reset to default upon exit. Is there a config file that can be edited or some other solution to this problem?

To be clear, Audio, Display, Game Speed, etc... all reset to their default values upon exiting the game.

I have found a Zeus config file, but there is very little to edit. Perhaps lines could be added to this file?

Where did you install the game? Did you use the default "Program files" location? If so try reinstalling the game to some other location and in future avoid installing GOG games in "Program files" It can cause a lot of troubles. I have the game installed somewhere else and I don't have the problem you've just described.
