Trying to play this game results in a black screen and the program is not opening.
I am running 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate Edition, and have disabled display scaling on high DPI settings, and am running the program as an Administrator.

I am aware of a hi-res patch to the game, however the link shared on this website is down.

Any suggestions?

It's doing the same for me, tried doing evrything that i have read and no solution. any help would be very appreciated

If you have an nVidia graphics card on your PC, disable Shadowplay. It creates an overlay on the game which creates a black screen to be displayed. This happens on Emperor Rise of the Middle Kingdom (not available on GOG.com) but turning off Shadowplay fixes it in most cases.

If you don't have an nVidia graphics card, then turn off any background processes that may be causing problems with the game.
