I have tried to install the patches from Zeus Haven and I'm not sure if the Poseidon patch replaces the Zeus patch, or if you need them both, but I can get neither to install.

When I try the Zeus patch it tells me: The file C:\GOG Games\Zeus and Poseidon\Zeus.exe is not a valid previous version and could not be upgraded

When I try the Poseidon patch it tells me: The file C:\GOG Games\Zeus and Poseidon\sierra.inf could not be opened
I tried this running as administrator too, no luck.

Is the version on GOG here a "patched" version, if not, is there any help anyone can offer me with getting the patches to work?

The versions here are generally patched, unless there is a patch right here on gog listed on the download page where you got the installer from. You don't need those from hg. Whatever gog does to games to ensure games run on modern systems quite likey breaks all "valid version" checks from original patches anyway, so they're build in,

Stop trying and enjoy the game, this is as patched as it gets :)
