That's all I want- the ability to save and load files. Yes, you have the option for one save & quit, but I'd much rather have the ability to save and reload from multiple files, or at the very least a quicksave function, and one that isn't deleted once your party dies.

i dont have this game but couldnt you implement some Save Scumming if youve got a run through thats looking good?

maybe alt+tab while paused and copy the save hot to a sub-folder.

(of course it would be good if the dev put an expanded save+load function, thusly saving the added legwork)

if its impervious to this or any other method, i am curious.
(this ones on my wishlist since many have said positives about it)

I don't have anything against your suggestion. I personally like it a lot how the game is now. I'll explain why. If you die then it's complete gameover, . permadeath if you like. This adds more realism, a LOT more tension, and atmosphere in my opinion to the game, and your choices and actions. Makes you really think deeply and plan well or else you may pay for bad choices and/or planning. It adds a lot of weight to what you're doing in the game. Gives you a much deeper gameplay experience, and when you win (if you win I should say:) then you feel even better about it for the exact reasons listed above in my opinion. You feel much more of a connection with your survivors and the game as a result.

A perfect comparision is the game Uplink. Where you play the role of an elite computer hacker. If you get caught at any point in the game it's a complete game over, . permadeath again. Your user file still stays there in the user files folder of the game with your score but the game data in it gets deleted so you can't load it again. Really adds a lot of realism, tension and atmosphere just like it does in Zafehouse: Diaries in my opinion. Again making the game even more enjoyable for those reasons. Granted in Uplink you can bypass that by making a copy of your user files, and if you get caught then replacing the files with your backup, but that takes a lot of the fun out of the game in my opinion:)

One other thing I forgot to add/cover...I wouldn't be against such an option being added to the game, but so long as an option to play in classic mode was also included:) Like a box to check to play in classic mode where there's no save and loading during gameplay. LIke the checkbox to check for permadeath in Dungeons of Dredmore I always check when I start a new game, or make the check box needed to be checked to play the game with saving and loading. This is only if such an option is ever added to Zafehouse: Diaries:)

Beukeboom pretty much hit the nail on the head, thanks.

That said, we could probably add a "Save and continue" as that wouldn't detract from the rogue-like feel, but would add a lot of convenience.
