I might be interested in picking Zafehouse Diaries up cheap at some point, but it's not officially Windows 8-compatible, and I don't really feel like gambling. Has anyone tested it?

Sorry, can't test it here, but even if I could, there's no guarantee it would run on your system as well.
But for what it's worth, the game doesn't support Win 8 because it simply wasn't tested by the devs, hence the good news, it's not because of a known incompatibility.
We officially support systems with the specs listed here. It's likely it will work on Windows 8, but we've not tested it and so we can't support it.

It would still be nice to see somebody actually running it under Win 8, preferably with a similar graphic card (nVidia / AMD).

I suspected the situation was something like that, but I'm going to leave this question open for a while, see if anyone with first-hand experience getting the game running on 8 wanders in here. Even anecdotal confirmation is better than "likely it will work".

Those rep points are the sad proof of the fact that I've played much to many games in the past and I'm now spending too much time on talking about them ;-) Nothing I'd call an achievement, but thanks and you're very welcome! Definitely keep this thread open for someone to confirm it's running on Win 8

I hope my answer is not too late but yes it works absolutely fine on 8. I do run into the crash I've had on other systems though (random crash after lengthy play) but it's all good otherwise.

Absolutely not too late! Thanks for the info. A question, though: by "crash I've had on other systems", do you mean that you've tried the game on other versions of Windows and it has occasional crashes on those as well, or were you referring to something else?

Oh I meant Windows 7 too. I don't know how to reproduce the issue as it just tends to happen when it feels like it, but yes, it happened on different versions of windows.

The best remedy is to manually save every few hours (game hours). I hope you enjoy it because I certainly have and still do from time to time. Just understand that dying is a very frequent part of this game, and you'll be fine :)

Just got this for 0.39 USD, and can finally confirm that it does, indeed, seem to run fine on Windows 8.1, so here's some long-delayed rep. Case closed!
