I keep getting errors similar to this when I enter the game's pause menu.

I've had it happen a couple times. Both were immediately after picking up an item. Maybe it's total coincidence, but I wonder if it has something to do with hitting start too quickly, like before the "you got the item" music ditty finishes or something.
Either way, it hasn't been more than a minor annoyance, given how the game auto-saves with every room transition.

OK, turns out there's a third-party patch that should fix the crash issues, discussed here: https://www.gog.com/forum/ys_series/ys_origin_final_bosss_crash
