Been playing the game for a couple of hours. It mostly seems to work quite well, but there are a couple of problems I found, and would like to know if I'm the only one getting them and maybe getting them known.
1) I set the Guard command on right mouse button, and, at least on the session I just played, the game decided to ignore it. I have a 5 buttons mouse and every other one worked just fine, only the right one seemed to be off. I would have thought it had something to do with me not having a shield, but I could block earlier. It just sorta... Stopped.
2) Perhaps related, at one point the game wouldn't let me select anything with left mouse button. I could attack as normal, just not use in the menus. I don't really know what triggered it, but closing and reopening the game fixed it.
3) The launcher seems to pick a resolution at random, while the game uses a fixed one (1920x1080 in my case). It doesn't really seem to have any reason to do so.

Other than that, so far the game seems to work fine. If, however, by any miracle someone who worked on the port reads this, a question: would it be possible to patch in a different mouse cursor while in the game? As a person with rather terrible eyesight, the default one gets lost rather easily in the light background of the Camp menu.
Not sure if I should post here or start a new thread but... I can't play the game at all. I can make it through the prolog, but as soon as I gain control of Adol the screen goes black with only the HUD/menu still being visible. I ran around blindly for a while and I think I made it through a doorway then the game crashed entirely with a "ysc_dx11.exe has stopped working..." error. I tried it on two different PCs with the same result.

(weird because Ys 7 worked fine)

update: tried both patches, and installed latest .net framework (mentioned on another forum) but the game still fails in exactly the same manner

I downloaded the whole game over again and reinstalled. For a minute it seemed to be working but it turns out that it only works when I don't have a gamepad connected. If the gamepad is connected then the screen goes black as soon as I gain control of Adol. If I start the game without a gamepad, save it, exit, reconnect the gamepad, relaunch the game, and load the save file then it works OK at first. But when I go to the options menu and back to the game the screen turns black again.

I've had the same problem. I've tried on multiple computers and get the same issue. I was using a Switch gamepad over Bluetooth. Without the controller connected I avoided the black screen. I am using a old USB PC controller now instead and have been finally able to start playing the game.
Sorry for necroing. Only revived to post solution for anyone like me who encountered the issue.

I had this issue recently with the Switch pro controller and would like to share the answer I got from Cypers from tech support. Using a USB cable on the NSP controller while DS4Windows is running in the background solved the issue. Users should also try updating their GPU drivers and reinstalling June 2010 DirectX runtime packages and Visual C++ 2017 redistributable packages.
