Just popping in to say this game is very fun.

I've just gotten into the second part of the quarry, after the lava area.
The item buffs make it really fun to hack your way through enemies, and in turn the levels themselves.
The two magic types I have so far have been used a lot as well, and not just collecting dust.
Bosses have been very enjoyable as well. Other than the Volvagia thing, which I just kind of kited and killed. They have cool moves and patterns. So far anyways.
I've learned that upgrades are essential, a 12 point increase in damage is a hell of a lot, it seems.
Also enjoying the story so far, although I've never played any other Ys game, so I don't know anything about Adol.

It would be cool if there were ways to get different combos or something, but being able to sneak in a whirlwind between hits looks cool enough.

After beating this, I'll get to Origin in probably a couple months/other games. Also gotta restart Xanadu Next at one point.
If I had a better laptop/time/money, I would probably get the newer ones as well. Heard good stuff about them.

All in all, very fun simple game.

And has some cool and fitting musics. I have really enjoyed this game though I didn't decided if I should buy it again or not because the DVD is still works perfectly. Sadly storywise these games are nowhere near to Ys I and II. Origin is a good pick, being the prequel it has good story telling and not the usual lackluster methods. Don't get me wrong I like Ark of Napistim, Seven and the other games but these barelly has story other than giving name to the enemies.

Even though I have it on Vita, I consider buying Lacrimosa of Dana here too. That has the most complex story in the series but there is a lot of difference compared to the "Ys-pace" so you won't be sure you're playing an Ys game. Gameplaywise it is just perfect, and finally an ending that wasn't just throwed together in hasty.
