I would rather get Falcom products on GoG and want to fill out with this release. I notice that Steam already has a release date set and a demo, but the product information here is just stuck as 'Coming Soon'.

Can we please get this updated and confirmed? It'd be nice to keep things on this platform.
I understand the feeling. I have all my Falcom games on GOG, and I'll even go further and say I'd straight up not even buy their games anymore if they didn't release on GOG.

But don't worry about the "Coming Soon". I can guarantee you it'll be here the same date and time as the Steam version. However, I wouldn't hold my breath for the Demo being released here, but you never know it could show up at some point.

My suggestion would be that if you really want to play the Demo, then just try it out on Steam, but of course buy the full game on GOG. I'll do that on occasion (not for Ys IX, since this is for sure a day one buy for me) and try out a demo on Steam, but buy the actual game on GOG if I like it.

Yeah, I suppose it's just a shame one platform has more support on the road to release - there are people here willing to choose GoG. Nothing against Steam players. Thankfully I tried the demo on ps4 anyway, but it'd be great to see GoG taking up more of these practices and being more in touch with the groups supporting it.

Yeah, I know what you're saying. I guess it's kind of on NISA when it comes to this stuff.

GOG I'm sure would love to host it, as they've been really good when it comes to Falcom. Not that long ago they had a nice interview with the president of the company, and a big week long sale specifcally for their anniversary. Steam had nothing like that at all.

But it'll for sure be here on day one for us on GOG, and I can't wait!
I'm just glad it's getting released here, as I'd hate to break up the collection by having the entire series save for one on steam!
Well - It would be nice if we had the Demo version here, but even after the release on Steam a wile ago we still have no demo version here on GOG. It really feels as if we are living in a forgotten corner somewhere...

I am fairly certain this game will be released on GOG sometime after the release on Steam. It happens so often it's almost a given. So when it's released on Steam we probably have to wait for a day or even several day's before we can buy and play the game here. It's sad, but that's the way it is. As I use only the stand-alone installer, I probably have to wait even longer, because the Galaxy client often has absolute priority. So - Yeah...

At the other hand - I own all my Facom games here on GOG, and love to have a stand-alone installer for all those games. It's the main reason I buy my games on GOG in stead of Steam.

I can guarantee that you're wrong. It'll be up for sale on GOG the same day as Steam, and at the same time. Highly doubt you'll be waiting for an offline installer either.

I don't know why people even care that much about the demo. I mean, just download the demo on Steam, and buy the full game here. I've heard people prefer to do that actually, because GOG will keep demo versions in your library with no way to remove them.
We will see, we will see. My experience is that these games come on the Galaxy installer first, and as stand-alone installer later. And what's wrong with having the demo here on GOG? If it's in your library after that, it's probably under the full game, so I don't see any problem.

And no - I am not going to buy the game on Steam. I have the whole Nihom Falcom/Xseed games library here on GOG, and I want to keep it that way. I want to have a stand-alone installer for those games. I do not like to have a mandatory client running just to download and install my games (and in some cases even to be able to run my games) like Steam does. That's simply a personal preference. If it's in any way possible I always buy my games in a format that does not depend on any client to install. That's not Steam specific by the way. The same goes for things like the Epic store and other store platforms.

You can argue I still have to download the installer, so I am still depending on a store front. However - Here on GOG I only have to download that installer once, and can store the downloaded files on any medium I like. After that I can install the game on any device I want (that meets the minimum requirements), at any time I want, and without needing any client and without needing any connection to the internet.

Did you even read what I said? Please actually take a breath and look next time before going on a multi-paragraph rant because of something I never said. I never suggested anyone should buy the game on Steam. I said if the demo is that important to anyone they could download the Demo on Steam, and then buy the full version here.

And if you care so much about offline-installers and have all the Nihom Falcom games here on GOG, then please submit a ticket to GOG support about Trails of Cold Steel IV missing the offline-installer for the "Cold Steel III" Costume Bundle DLC.

I'm sure you're aware, but it's a DLC that you can only get if you have both ToCS III and IV, and there's no offline-installer anymore. It's missing now, and GOG support has confirmed the problem, but I would like help to get this issue fixed promptly.

Sorry - I indeed was to hasty and read it wrong. My apologies... I feel stupid now...

About the DLC's. Well - As I never do any costumes (especially not the "funny" ones and ride-on's that makes everything silly and no longer serious), I have not noticed it.

No worries. We've all done it before.

But would you think about submitting a support ticket to report the missing offline installer for the DLC pack? You might not care about the DLC, but if you care about the offline installers than it's important to get this fixed. Ignoring it is just one step towards a Galaxy only GOG, and perhaps no more offline installers.

Edit: GOG fixed the missing DLC issue.

Oh cool. I see us lowly GOG folks don't get a demo. Nice!

Just download the demo from Steam, and if you like the game you can buy it here on GOG.

Just wanted you to know that the game is up and the offline-installer was available immediately. I picked up the Ultimate Edition as soon as the game went live, and offline-installer was there and working.

Enjoy the game!

Nah. Don't use Steam. Demo just showed up on GOG though. Yay.
