Yes, it was updated some hours ago.
I'm hesitant to play.
I saw a test video of the new version ... guns still sound like shit, still no "tap tap", no "ratatat", no text bubbles. Cell shading is still weak, it still does not resemble the original comic look.
And aparently there are still plenty of bugs.

Can't immagine that it is more fun to play now than it was at release.

It's certainly too much to put the remake on the same level as the original, but in the aspect of gameplay and visuals it has dramatically improved compared to its state before. The patch basically addressed the big obvious issues to make it playable at all and reduce system requirements and now it's a smooth shooter for all platforms (except for Switch).
There may be another patch to focus more on various minor details from the original that have remained missing. The XIII community has been passing a lot of suggestions to the new developers now that it seems to go to a proper direction.

I gave it a test-run - I was never bothered by the visuals the same way as others so for me, that was the least important thing to adress but yeah, the gameplay is definitely improved and even before this new patch, the game was pretty much playable from start to end (at least I managed to finish it so I'd assume it's the same for others)

Well, that's at least something. So it's now on pair with every other shooter out there and not that mess that it was when I bought it. I'll give it a try.
Still ... I bought this because it was XIII. And even if I ignore all the bugs it had back then, it just was not as fun as the original. The whole feeling was different. They should have left in that comic design with tap-tap, bubbles and all.
That was what gave the original it's charme.
Hi guys,

what do you think, is it worth the 11 Euros (currently discounted)? I'd really like to give it a try ... :)

Best regards,
Raff

The real problem, at least for me, it's that XIII didn't need a remake at all: I played the original game last year and the cell shader graphics is still awesome, and it runs without any issue even on newer hardware.

The only reason for buying the game could have been the multiplayer, but it's been empty since release
Today we got another update. No patch notes, however.
are the multiplayer servers different from the ones from steam?
