Hi, this is my first time playing XIII but the save system doesn't seem to be working. When I load the game it loads the last checkpoint but not where I save my my game.

This is entirely normal. The savegame mechanic isn't fleshed out and saves merely at the checkpoints.

Also be aware there is no permanent autosave. Like when you quit the game mid-way, all progress will be lost. To avoid that, make a manual savefile or press the quicksave key from time to time (F5 quicksave / F9 quickload).

apply the xiii all in one installer 1.4.2.1 patch from moddb.com and you can use f5 to quicksave your checkpoint progress.

How does one start the UnrealEditor in XIII ?
It appears that the editor startup application is trying to query the CD ( I have the GOG version of "XIII" ) during the editor startup and returns an error.
Does anyone know of a workaround or fix ?
I have several existing versions of UnrealEd on my computer so I suppose I could just redirect the maps and save folders and, perhaps, the texture, static mesh, prefabs, etc. directories to point to the "XIII" folders/files ??
Please help if you can.
