Especially when playing the flashbacks in the game, I can only see black and the white dot, I have to navigate blindly to continue... Any fixes?

Gtx 580 1.5gb
6gb ram
i7 930 @ 2.8 Ghz

I had the same issue. I have a GTX 480. After installing the game I went in the nVidia control panel and enabled FXAA and anisotropic filtering. At that point I started playing and experienced the black screen with the white dot in the center.
I was able to fix it by going back to the nVida control panel and setting XIII back to defaults. I tried it again and no more black screens! Then I enabled Antialiasing ONLY and tested successfully again.
Try this out and see if it works for you.
