Hi, so my problem is that my game is crashing on start, every time i click on XCOM EU or EW the screen goes white for a second then black for a few seconds and the game crashes. Any help is appreciated :)

Secondly, some basic info would be helpful :) :
- which system and graphic card do you have
- are you running game through Galaxy or from offline installer
- vanilla game or modded one
- do you have any overlay-like applications in the background (GeForce Experience, Afterburner, FRAPS, etc)
- do you have DirectX9 & MSVC 2015/17 redists installed in your system (game installer should handle those, but it is always good to double-check)

I have the same issue whenever i try to run Enemy Unknown. Basically it dies everytime it starts the first screen, and tries to "load user settings".
I remember that there was a prompt at my very first click of the game which asked me if I want to block it access or not (i think it's a firewall setting), and i didn't think too much to it and let it pass. Think that could be the issue? If yes, how do i change it?
Running on i7 2.5GHz, 8GB RAM, 64bit Win8. I have GeForce experience but not running at the time. Avast AV has been turned on to "Game Mode" for the game.
