Does the GOG version get Steam Workshop mods support? Or any mods support, for that matter?

I'm a huge Chimera Squad fan (currently trying an Impossible Ironman campaign - wish me luck!), and I've amassed a selection of favorite mods (both QoL and gameplay)

I'll probably re-buy it here if I can use mods, but until then it's a non-starter.

Any info will be appreciated,

No Steam Workshop support. There was a site which enabled manually downloading Workshop mods, and I used that to mod Xcom2, but it was shut down recently.

I got some mods from https://catalogue.smods.ru/?app=882100 but I cannot get them to work. I placed them into ...\XCOM Chimera Squad\XComGame\Mods and added the list to ...\XCOM Chimera Squad\XComGame\Config\DefaultModOptions.ini like with (Xcom2). There is no change in game, even though log in ...\Documents\My Games\XCOM Chimera Squad\XComGame\Logs\Launch.log lists them as installed, for example:

[0006.16] Log: Checking DLC installation for ../../XComGame/Mods/2108610861 FreeRotation ...
[0006.16] Log: IS INSTALLED : YES
