I was playing my Xcom2 recently, but when I suddenly realised that the shortcut no longer worked. I checked the path, and Windows informed me that the file Xcom2.exe doesn't exist anymore. I checked within my antivirus' quarantine list, but couldn't find it at all. It's like it was suddenly removed for no reason.

As I like to backup the files into my HD before installing (saves time and bandwidth), not sure if that's the main source of issue? Anyone else encountering such a problem?

Yep, started happening to me about 2 months ago. I reinstalled, then I copied the bin files to another directory and created a batch file to copy the exe file back. So now if I get the message that the shortcut does not work, I run the batch file and then it works again.
