Hello! Anyone here playing X4 on Linux with a 500 or 400 series GPU from AMD?

I have slight graphical corruption and wonder if I have hardware problems or if there are software problems, be that the drivers or the game. I use the open drivers.

The game runs very well so it is not that big of a problem but some borders look pixelated and those pixels flicker too. Anyone else seeing this?

A reminder that the game wants quite a bit of both RAM and video RAM.

I tried to attach a picture but it has to be of some quality in order to show it properly and the 500kiB limit is harsh so the picture will be tiny.

I take it you're using the RADV open-source driver? Are you also using or have you tried using ACO?

RADV is still quite buggy at times and affected by precision issues - especially seems to be the case with Vulkan.

Yes, I am. Trying to change did not work, most likely due to the hacks I did in order to make Vulkan work on my previous GPU, that only had Vulkan drivers for the open drivers. Reinstalling would fix it quickly but I have been stubbornly trying to fix it using other means and to make it hard for myself I refuse to go find the instructions I used for Installing my old GPU in order to reverse that. So, I thought I had found the system folder where I made the additional conditions... and... it is empty :-O That reinstallation is really tempting now.

Thanks for the advice. I will return to this thread when I have managed to, one way or another, change the driver version to tell if that helped or not.

I also have graphical errors on startup and when I switch to desktop and then back to the game. But it always dissappears after a few seconds and does not occur while playing.

I need to get around to changing the drivers. Will have to reinstall next month anyway so then it is easy to do.
