Hi Folks,

I am having trouble with the game, X2: The Threat, since I cannot save my game whenever I wish. It say that saving game is only possible inside the station. Do you have any idea how to resolve this problem?

It is intended that way, you can only save "for free" while docked in a station.
To save anywhere anytime you need to buy consumable in game item "salvage insurance" (Goner Temple sells them).
