EDIT: SOLVED per Alm888 and Kemde replies below.

I'm being stupid; how do I Install Split Vendetta on Linux? When I run the installer and point it to my main X4 Folder, it gives the error above.

Hmm, are the base game and DLC the very same version? Only thing I can think of.

Themken: Hmm, are the base game and DLC the very same version? Only thing I can think of.
In my GOG account, they appear to be separate:

X4 is listed as 12Gb, and Vendetta is listed as .9Gb and both are "3.30 Hotfix 2"

Very strange!

You shall feed GOG installer for the DLC the "root" directory the base game is installed in, not the actual directory containing game files.

Example:
"X4: Foundations" is installed in "/home/<Username>/bin/X4 Foundations/". Its actual game files and executables are in the "game" subdirectory.
During the DLC installation process one shall point to "/home/<Username>/bin/X4 Foundations/", not "/home/<Username>/bin/X4 Foundations/game/".
I think the above must be it.
Using the offline installer here. The warning can be ignored, it'll work if you gave it the correct folder (as @Alm888 said). You can check in the start menue under 'Extensions' if Split stuff is there.

Apart from that, I have no idea why GOG and others can't let go of the bad habit: do not use blanks in file names and paths if you can avoid it. They cause problems in scripts, C/C++-programs and on the command line because they are meant to be delimiters, must be escaped in strings and so on.

The installer lets you enter a directory-name, choose one that doesn't have blanks, like 'x4_foundations' or some such, with an underscore instead of a blank. It'll make your life easier ;-)

That did the trick. Thanks everyone!
