ashwald: Damn, there's a bug like that? Good thing I haven't run into any other parked Springblossoms then. And thanks for the hint, the non-existent gate was driving me crazy.
The first time it happened to me, I was like WTF? Is there a Xenon war party I missed in the sector, and they are creaming me as I un-dock? lol I finally did some searching of forums, and found out about the bug. It may not happen for everyone, but wanted to let you know, so you can make sure you have a decent save point, and don't lose valuable progress like I did when it happened to me the first time...arrrg.
And don't feel bad, I went searching through Terran space like you did, looking for that blasted gate to Aldrin 2, and after being frustrated, finally found out about the plot requirements. One good thing though, got to discover and map out all that area in the process x).
gogtrial34987: I just watched this, and wow, am I ever so ashamed of this complex of mine which right before I was still mightily proud of. :P The camera bit really makes all the difference. And I _had_ actually discovered it before, just hadn't realized how it could be used...
Ah well, I'd better go gather some more credits and locate a likely sector for a much better complex, now. ^_^
No worries, even with the 3D camera, it takes a bit of practice and patience, lol. One thing I also discovered....to produce those really nice complexes that have everything line up nicely is one hell of a lot easier when you have all the the stations, and place them one after the other before connecting them first. Once they are connected, they don't show up in the same manner on the 3D map, and it's a heck of a lot trickier to place things and get them to line up as nicely. This isn't always an option though earlier in the game when you don't have the credits to buy a ton of stations all at once first.
Even trickier, is hauling some big ass asteroids (you have to have a mining station built on them first, in order to use a tractor beam on them) and bringing them in close to make them part of your complex, so you don't have some crazy ass connecting tube running a 1/3 of the way across the sector, heh heh. Strangely, I kind of enjoyed the challenge, and found it a bit relaxing with the awesome soundtrack playing in the background...well until I might crash the asteroid into something that is :P
