Now that I've had a bit to mull over what I've played so far, I definitely enjoy alot of the ideas the game is going for. A really nice art direction, although leaning a bit too much towards cold grey tones in the levels, it's definitely a breath of fresh air compared to quake itself. I've always been a sucker for alternate fire modes, so every weapon having one is really nice. The enemy variety as far as they've shown is definitely better than what they showed in early preview footage, and with more on the way will only get better.
My biggest issues so far are with AI and more minor glitches, which will most likely be fixed, but should be pointed out anyways.
1) Most enemies have problems dealing with level geometry, especially corners and entrances. It's not only zombies, the executioners have also gotten stuck on corners multiple times.
2) Hitboxes need a bit of adjusting. A few of the enemies hitboxes for their attacks seem a bit too far for their actual reach, and even if that's part of their design to punish you for getting close, there should still be a bit more leeway.
3) The Jump voice is kinda weird to me. It feels like it's switching between two different voices randomly, and I can't tell what exact tone it's going for.
4) I do hope for another weapon that gives more movement options, cause the ruination blade (IIRC) is incredibly fun and a good traversal tool, but I hope not every alt fire is just "Use up more ammo for a bigger attack"
Despite my complaints, I couldn't be more excited to see where this goes in the future. I'll definitely be checking back for each content update until release.
