Hi All,

I recently bought the Worms Bundle on GOG (having previously owned Worms United, Worms 2, WA and WWP on cd) and have been having a blast again.

I have an issue though that occurs with Worms Armageddon and World Party where all of sudden my saved teams and progress have disappeared. This first occurred with WWP and everytime I play again nothing gets saved after closing since it happened. In Armageddon i manged to reach mission 32 before it wiped everything. It wont even let me make a team anymore. Strangely though my game schemes and secret options unlocked are all still saved.

Anybody experienced this or know what to do to prevent this from happening. (I imagine a uninstall-reinstall in needed first).

Odd, mine didn't. Is your Users folder within the WA/WWP directory empty?

I forwarded this to the TUS-WA Discord server, this is what a knowledgeable soul said:

basically it was an error in the first Steam version Team17 created, they included a blank team file as part of the installation (the game does need a team file to start up I seem to recall, but this should have been something done conditionally on first run rather than something included with the installer). The original GOG version was also just a hacked Steam version so probably has the same issue.

what this means is that if you breathe wrong on the Steam/GOG versions such that the installers decide to refresh all the files, you'll get that blank team file back replacing yours

3.8 onwards works around this by always saving a backup copy of the team file

and if it detects that the main team file has been replaced with the blakn one, it restores the backup

but this won't help for people updating from 3.7.2.1 because 3.7.2.1 never saved that backup
EDIT: What might help for other users to avoid the issue is: apply the CD version installer (it only differs by one hex in the main EXE that has a CD check enabled), and THEN update via Galaxy.

OR just copy User\Teams\WG.WGT to a different folder before updating, and returning it after updating.
