I bought the World in Conflict Complete edition on the GOG, and I am able to play the soviet assult, but I'm not able to play the first - WIC campaign, but it goes straight to the expansion SOVIET ASSULT
Did I misunderstod something in the COMPLETE EDITION?? Shouldn't you be able to play both WIC and the EXPANSION??
Any one knows??

You can't choose that. In the complete edition, you switch between the sides and start as USSR. It's mostly chronological except for flashbacks to Europe, if I remember correct.

Soviet Assault is a strange product. WiC is primarily a team vs team multiplayer game with a mandatory standard fare singleplayer campaign because it was the mid 2000's and that's how you sell AAA games. For some reason the presentation takes itself very seriously, even though the story is quite dumb and the mission design is even more divorced from reality.

Then came Soviet Assault, a strictly singleplayer expansion with no new multiplayer content. No one asked for this. Not only that, the new campaign is not a stand-alone experience, but a very awkward remake of the main game campaign where soviet missions are inserted as the first couple of missions before the original opening of the main campaign starts. At certain points in the campaign, the new soviet missions are slotted in. It's a mess. Including 'both sides' is pointless as the two stories don't actually overlap anyhow. There was no reason for this expansion to have been made. It would have been fine if it was a separate campaign but the way they included it, it overwrites the original campaign with a worse frankensteined one.

I don't believe there is a way to separate Soviet Assault in the GOG release, so unfortunately you can not experience the US campaign as originally intended.

But yeah, in Complete you play everything, Russian, EU and USA. You can choose to replay Missions after done.

So since I'm in WIC discussion: Is it normal that one doesn't get a mp-key for WIC when purchased on GOG?

Rename assault.dat to something else and run the game. I haven't played it before, so I don't know if it matches your memory of the original game, but it looked completely different to me.
