For some reason, I can't unlock the achievement "I'm Machine Enough" in Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. The description just says "Beat the Panzerhund ride without killing anyone on "Bring 'em On!" difficulty or higher". I've read several guides on how to do it and watched videos showing that it works with the achievement popping, then tried it in a lot of different ways, but so far no luck. Here's what I can think of that I tried, some combinations of those too, of course:
- Using the Panzerhund for the first half of the level or continuing to use it as long as possible
- Leaving the Panzerhund intact, dismounting at some point, or letting it be destroyed
- Dismounting the Panzerhund right at the beginning of the level and going through it completely on foot
- Killing enemies while on foot or not, including doing the whole level in a stealth way so as not to be spotted at all
- Collecting pick ups like health and armor or ignoring everything on the way
- Taking different routes through the level
- Going to the level exit or only to the end of the sewers, dropping down into the water
- Playing it on the difficulties "Bring 'em On", "Do or die!" (the next hardest difficulty) and "I am death incarnate!" (the most difficult one aside from permadeath "Mein Leben!")
- Using a savegame from the start of the level or from the end of the previous level to load the achievement level in a fresh state
- Moving my save files and configuration, then replaying the game from complete scratch with default settings up to that point
- Having all DLCs installed or none
- Galaxy overlay enabled or not
I'm at a loss, everything else worked perfectly (didn't and won't do the permadeath achievements though). The unlock rates on GOG are not high, but seeing how it is so easily missable, that's not surprising. The percentage is still fine at 0.4% vs. Steam at 1.5%, at least it's not broken in any significant way or it would be way lower. Haven't found anyone reporting a problem this extensive about the achievement either...
So it seems like it is an isolated problem only I am facing. I'm playing the international version (just mentioning that because I'm German and we have a separate, censored edition of the game as well). There's no version to rollback to, according to the downloads and Galaxy, I'm on 6.5.0.1331. Ah, and I am still using the old Galaxy version 1.2.67, but this has never been a problem in any other game, so I'm ruling that out. Maybe I will try it again some day, when I have a new system and fresh OS installation and am running stable Galaxy 2 (should that ever be a thing...).
Does someone have any ideas besides that or maybe a save file that's known to have worked with the GOG version I could use?
