I cannot pass the underwater tunnel in the temple of serpent to reach one of them monkey statues. After fighting the slime monster in the passage I cannot move on. I even tried with just one small character (pixie gnome or ratling), but they all get stuck... Did anybody else encounter this problem?

Yes! This is/was actually a very common issue.

No Moon Magic:
One solution is to look down and wiggle the camera while moving forward. Another is to go backward through the tunnel. Yet another is to change the screen resolution and try a combination of the above. None of these are successful for every person, so just give it all your best try, if you have the time.

Moon Magic (Fastest):
The best solution is to have a Moon magic caster to use "vanish" to move forward past the troublesome bit of tunnel. Just aim in the general direction you want to go, and it usually spawns you in a good position past that bit.

None of those worked!:
The item in the tunnel isn't necessary, if you have the answers from the item it unlocks. Spoilers are in the link below, if you end up needing them as a last resort.:

I managed to pass through it by swirling around like a tornado while pressing the climb/jump button :D
Anyway, it's a serpent statue not a monkey statue.
The last one is mandatory if you want complete a certain profession quest

Thx a lot! The wiggle/resolution combination did not work and I also do not have the vanish spell... So I just used the answers from your link and that of course worked at the end.

(This is not necroposting! For a 20 years old game, a 4 years old topic is still an infant!)

So, I have been suffering the same problem today. Wiggling somehow did work in the end, though one of my characters had died. The healer, sadly.

But if someone would have an opportunity to test this: could the problem be caused by the worms lurking around? Maybe wiggling wildly seems to help just because a worm blocking you wanders away in the meantime?

Whoever would read this topic, in whichever year, please try to look around under your feet, above your head, and all around, and swing your weapons hoping that you could kill the bug and be allowed to emerge from water before you drown!

I have spent in that temple way too much time, and I am not eager to come back there too soon. Maybe in a few days... :)

There are several places you can get hooked on the terrain & stuck. There is no reliable way to get loose so save often if you are about to tackle a known risk.
- The underwater passage in the serpent temple, especially if you have a fight underwater before you get to the choke point
- The drawbridge of Castle Shurugeon after you lower it
- The waterfall/drain near the Earth Tome in the dragons mountain, also the passage with the boulders leading to the Earth Tome.

The "wiggle your direction" with mouse/keyboard sometimes works but sometimes you just have to reload and try again.

Ok, I just did it. I tried every approach from this topic and it did not work, but in the end I put all game settings on EASY and spawning on seldom, looked down and wiggled my camera left and right with small amplitude but fast, and got through relatively easy, only got 1 damage from drowning. So if you're reading this and desperate like I was try this!
