I have just recovered the Holy Relic from the Skull castle and given it to the Lich, then he gave me his staff for opening Cet's Pyramid .

The problem is that I can't remember why I had to get there!

When the Dragon gave me the Mavin sword he didn't mention to go north to the town of Brimloch, only his friend, the blind gnome said something about a underwater city where Wisdom can be found.

The Lich mentioned also told me something about three Lost Tablets (?) that can open a shrine.

So i think i miss the link between the recovery of the Mavin sword and going to the Brimloch area :S

Another hint that maybe I missed something was the ten thousand gold i needed for buying the ship, luckily i had with them at that point because i robbed the dwarf king before
Did you find the statue of Kerah inside the serpent temple? She elaborates a bit on the game's plot, which should lead you to seek out Anephas.

Brimloch Roon is the next step after claiming the Mavin, so you didn't miss anything there.
Many parts of the story can be completely skipped, without breaking the game. However, some backstory to add to the richness of experience can be easy to miss, unfortunately...

As guar said, the Kerah Statue in Serpent Temple can give some good backstory, and several reasons to keep exploring (this one is a bit easy to miss, however - it's in a wall). However, if you keep going (just to the next dungeon), many of the same reasons should be presented.

I'm going to keep any unknowns as generic "NPC"s below, so as not to spoil anything.

The Lich should have given you a good reason to go into the Shrine opened by the Staff. He has a lot of story, which is important if you want a full experience, so type in any important keywords (if you haven't already) about Anephas, Ash, Cet, Kerah, etc.

After you solve the Shrine at request of the Lich, more of the story should become clear, from some important NPCs. There is an...interesting talking fellow (not humanoid) outside Brimloch Roon, before the Shrine, which can also give you a lot more backstory.

The gnome is leading you in the right direction, but the Lich's words are more important for now. The words of the gnome will become more clear after following the Lich's instructions.

The boat always costs 10,000, and there is no storyline reason to collect that much. You just have to get it. I guess it's the game's way of seeing if you're "ready" to progress past this point or not.
Thanks for the replies,

I have missed the Kerah statue in the Serpent temple
