I just did some quick tests, but it seems to work:

1) download gVoodoo2_55_3 from here
2) copy DLLs from MS-Folder into the WaW-folder, please make a backup of the old dll-files.
3) copy dgVoodooCpl.exe and dgVoodoo.conf into the WaW folder
4) run dgVoodooCpl.exe:
General Tab:
set Output API to Direct3D11 (feature Level 10.0)

DirectX Tab:
Resolution: Unforced
!Any forced resolution results in mouse tearing
disable Fast video memory access

Mouse lag was horrible, after that i could create a party just fine.
I found that on rpgcodex.net, so all credits go to Great Deceiver
I didn't install anything mentioned in that topic, i only installed dgvoodoo

Edit:
5) AVI-Patch is still needed in gog Version:
AVI-Patch

Simply extract the folder to your WaW dir.

I created a party, entered some builddings and did some short battles, seems to work fine

Cool stuff, worked like a charm! Any idea how to make alt+tab work with this?

I followed your instructions.
Like 5% increase in performance. I then tried to also reduce polling rate to 125. The screen changed to stretched with everything looking pink.
Not sure about the mouse movement, it feels the same as when I just reduce polling rate to 125.
Not only that but since I overwrote some files now I have to uninstall the game and re install it.

The link you posted for rpgcodex should be enough to get folks up and running with W&W. I own the retail version (original boxed) and was able to get it to work last year by following Great Deceiver's instructions. I played through completely with very minor issues; NPC eyes greyed out sometimes, a couple of crashes on load, character's backgrounds going white a couple of times. There wasn't anything, however, which prevented me from playing the game or anything annoying enough to make me quit. The issues I experienced were minimal from start to finish.

Because I am such a GoG sheep, I did purchase W&W here but I must admit that I am a little disappointed, maybe surprised is a more appropriate word, that GoG didn't release this game as a fully working game. I didn't experience any of the mentioned issues such as mouse lag or full screen issues after I installed the GoG version, maybe because I had already set up the retail version for my Win 10 rig using dgVoodoo and Win 10 legacy options.

Here is where the disappointment/surprise comes in. After I started the GoG version of W&W, I did experience the problem of not being able to leave the town by using the gate to the right which leads to the cemetery and other places. In order to remedy this, I had to copy the six .avi files from the townavi folder in the retail version of W&W and then paste those files into the GoG version. After that, I was on my merry way. The files I copied/pasted were the ones I downloaded from Jeff Ludwig's site for the retail version of W&W. GoG should have released their version with these files already in place. I mean, it's not a secret. This has been a game breaking issue since the release of Win XP. I remember having to use the Win 98 shell on my Win XP rig in order to play the retail version.

I'm not the sharpest knife in the tool shed so if I can follow Great Deceiver's instructions and then get W&W to work, GoG version and retail version, on a Win10 system, it shouldn't be impossible for at least the majority of people who are running a Win 10 rig to get this old favorite to work. I hope you guys do get it to work because even with the dated graphics and clunky controls, this game, in my opinion, is a true masterpiece. Good luck, guys.

Those instructions were based on my testing over at Vogons.org which GD did give credit. I also just put the instructions in my review here on GOG, without realizing this post was here. I am personally using WIP 50 with great success, although the background behind the character does go white once in a great while still, but much, much less frequently. With WIP 50 you can skip that Level 10.0 change. You could not get back into town through the gate in the 3D world without Level 10.0 being used. As of WIP 50 that is no longer needed (at least with the GOG version, haven't tested it with my CD copy yet). I think GOG has done a great job and with a little more tweaks it should get near perfect.

Latest dgVoodoo2 WIPs: (WIP 50 is the latest as of this writing)
