There are two paths in the crypt which have Mystic Fires, which either harm or heal you.

I actually found out how to open both paths, but my problem is that I cannot figure out how to get past the Mystic Fire rooms. The gate always closes when I get near. As far as I can tell, the levers don't do anything.

EDIT: I found a method from watching youtube playthroughs. Firstly, there's a Sprint button (Shift) which I had completely missed. Second, if you grab a Box and run through the fires, you can place the box right under the gate, making it keep opening, letting you get through.

I have no idea if that's how you're supposed to get through (seems like a really weird way to get through), but it's the only thing that worked for me.

Each of the two mystic fire rooms has a different mechanic to open the gate.

First room: walk through the first mystic fire (the one you have to go though to enter the room itself). Now turn around and walk right back over it out of the room. Turn around again and simply keep walking forward. Though the same fire for the 3rd time, and keep going straight through the room. The gate will open when you approach it and you can walk through.

Second room: The mystic fire in the center of the room actually heals you instead of hurting you. The trick is to avoid it. Walk to and flip both the levers in the side rooms *without* touching the central healing fire. Then the gate will open and let you through,
