Hi,

can someone explain how do the magic books work?

I have equipped Book of Cure Poison on my warlock. I had one poisoned character in party and I tried to use the book. I was able to select the book in use item menu, but I wasn't able to target the other character. Even when I used ctrl to force targeting, the cursor was still red and that annoying "error buzz" sounded like when you do action that is not allowed.

Why can't I cure my character with the book?

The books are used to teach a spell to one of your characters, so he/she can cast it, unlike scrolls which can be used to cast the spell, and which vanish during the process.

Thanks for the explanation, however, I am not able to teach anyone the spell. I have a monk wjo was previously a priest and trhough the priest guild I trained her to 6th level of vinecraft (only 3rd level while still being a priest, though). So she can learn it (she doesn't know it yet), but the book doesn't seem to do anything.
When I move the book to her own inventory, it's marked as *restricted*.

Your monk doesn't have vinecraft natively, so i assume that is the reason he cannot use the vinecraft spellbook. I never used books, so i am not really sure here.

I thought the same, I just hoped I was wrong. Anyway, thanks for your help.
