Portal back to Crock's. Quickest approach from here...walk to Marten's Bluff, use the T'Rang teleporter to southern edge of Arnika, then use Humpawhammer. (That was available; already used the Gigas side.)

Ohhh...Glumph refuses to go to MB. Ugh. Threatens to leave, too.

OK, fine; walk back through Trynton...Glumph whines...then the road. Brief stop in Arnika to talk to Braffit (shut up, Glumph). Then it's a quick walk to the IUF house, and bingo! Gigas. Glumph is satisfied, I'm out of the doghouse. (Yeah, right, Glumph, like *you* impress me.)

Get to Yamir. Usual scene with Glumph and Yamir. Get the XP, get the "shut down the TP" mission. Turn to leave.

Then for some reason, Yamir and the others there...go hostile.

Like....HUH? Z'Ant...sure, I'm used to him having a hissy fit. But not Yamir. I have no clue if I just fat-fingered something as I was leaving...doesn't seem likely...or whether it was the return trip with Glumph, or NOT going through the usual path (through the UTU). I think it most likely, it was trying to go to Marten's Bluff with Glumph.

For the time being, I just figured fine, I'll be nice and just get outta dodge. Didn't go ballistic and turn Yamir into sausage. Yet. I may change my mind and Achieve Total World Domination by eradicating both the T'Rang and Umpani. Just because.
Hmmm..., never had that.

Some ideas:

Did Yamir say anything before going hostile? Or did just the map turn from green to red?

There are some spells which the game interprets as friendly fire, like sonic boom...
Crock goes hostile when charmed, never tried it with those Umpanis...

Can the scene be reproduced by doing the scene? Did Glumph, aside from whe whining, behave differently? Did he "prepare" his speech to the General as always?

When I have him, I tend to bring him back as quickly as possible, using a portal, which I always locate at the T'Rang porter, and then move up Arnika Road to the Umpani House. Never had a problem.

Did you already do sth with the Drazic/Rodan quest?

Does the Journal say something extrordinary?

Map just went red, that I could tell. I'm sure I didn't intentionally cast anything. Heck, I usually don't bother learning Charm, Mindread, or even Turncoat...sometimes that one, but just not often.

Can't do the Rodan/Drazic quest, I believe. It's not enabled. In any case, I haven't been in the Away Camp yet. I usually do the castle first, and haven't been there yet either. Still have to do the sea caves.

Yes, if I'm thinking, I'll have a decent portal set up...should've done one by the IUF house by Arnika. Same rationale as using the T'Rang house.

Journal doesn't show anything special.

I didn't have a save, unfortunately, that was particularly convenient. I may have an earlier game save at Bayjin, that I could test the hypothesis that it was trying to go to MB. Glumph does say something about "this is going into my report!" which is another reason why I think it's buried in the scripts there.

EDIT: hopped back there, Yamir was still ticked off. His mistake. Mt. Gigas is a very large tomb, mostly, and the Umpani camp is a ghost town. OK, I left a couple of the sentry towers alone. And of course, one can't let the spiders take over by default...so eradicated Marten's Bluff too. Besides...get rid of them, clean out the smell, and it'd be a nice little scenic retreat.

Heh. :)

Also took out the Nargisst, altho truth be told, it's one of the more grotesque acts in any game like this I know of. Yeah, games with a really dark tone, there's probably stuff that's worse, but it's a really depraved course of action. Then again, been reading a lot of space-based military sci-fi, and things like life support system failure.......ewwwww. (I still shiver thinking about the circumstances around Payne Stewart's death. His private jet suffered explosive decompression, it's believed, rendering everyone unconscious quickly. The plane flew on autopilot, IIRC, until it ran out of fuel.)
