It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).

Many people seem to have no issue with this on win10 or get it to work with little trouble, but trying to launch the game doesn't do anything and I can't get it to work. If anyone can help or has suggestions then please let me know.

Things I already tried:

- Run through GOG Galaxy
- Run through the games exe
- Run in compatibility mode (XP, Win7), as administrator
- Move game folder to C:\\ and rename folder to Wiz8
- Move to C:\Program Files (x86)
- Update windows 10
- Update Nvidia drivers
- Switch to an older version of Wizardry 8 in the GOG settings
- Try all settings in 3DSetup
- Try suggested settings in nglide_config
- Install and use secom drivers
- Tried nocd patch from fansite
- Delete intro movies
- Verify / repair

The system language is english and I install everything in english too so I would strongly assume so.

I tried most settings, especially in 3DSetup but I'll add pictures.

I also accidentally made my first thread in the general discussion forum so I will add a link to that for anyone that wants to see the various suggestions that were already given so far:

1, use nGlide not Dx7 as you have a Windows 10 build

2. change your start up screensize to 800 X 600 in the settings exe [by app in nglide] and then set your desktop to 800 X 600 so your Gcard doesn't have to work harder

the so called fix people are pointing to is for Windows XP or 7 and will not run in W10 because the file structure is different ... in Gog Windows 10 the profile and save game folders go in the game install folder and not your documents

the one good answer you got was to turn on dirrect play... this allows older games to run [use more ram] on Windows 10 systems... the link will tell you where to look for it and see if it is already on
https://windowsforum.com/threads/turn-on-direct-play-to-use-older-games-windows-8-8-1-1-and-10.205952/

right click the Wiz exe and run as admin is also a good idea to test if anti virus systems are getting the way... if you downloaded the gog game then you don't have any premade characters or save games yet
you can download and use these http://www.nibbit.net/assets/wiz8.7z

Having the same issue, the fix program does not work either, just says its not installed.
When I first purchased this game, I was amazed to see that the game itself launched correctly the first time I tried to play it. It wasn't until I shut off my computer that I was unable to start launching the game anymore. I figured that I had to reinstall the game, so I tried this, but no luck.

**NOTE only go through with the following steps if your issue was the same as mine: The game ran the first time you tried to launch it, but after a computer restart, the game didn't launch again.

This may be irritating, but I have found a way to get the game to work for me, at least.

I first uninstall the GOG GALAXY application. Then, go into your program files and delete the GOG GALAXY folder.

After this step, restart your computer.

Reinstall GOG GALAXY and Wizardry 8. Choose your resolution using the additional executables settings.

After this, you will be able to play the game until you shut down your computer. After you shut down your computer, you will have to repeat the following steps. This could be a pointless workaround, but I'm not great with tech in general. Maybe this helps, maybe it doesn't, but obviously GOG doesn't seem to be paying much attention to the game.
None of that should be necessary. I run W10, as well. I just downloaded it, set my 3dsetup.exex and ran it. Literally nothing else.
