It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I couldn't play Wizardry 8, keeping getting this error:

"The application X11 could not be opened.

An error occurred while starting the X11 server: "Failed to activate core devices."

Click Quit to quit X11. Click Report to see more details or send a report to Apple."

Any advice? Thanks.
Seems to be a known problem (on Steam)
as there was a patch 2 days ago to make Wiz 8 work on Mac:

belkyrnn: I couldn't play Wizardry 8...

Any advice? Thanks.
I got Wiz8 running on OS 10.11 by updating the wineskin wrapper and the engine to 1.8, but sadly can't do the same for Wiz7 since the gog version does not use wineskin. If you need detailed instructions for updating the wineskin wrapper and engine look here:

Oops, sorry for wrong information... Wiz7 Gold does use wineskin, but gog already updated it to work in 10.11, they just didn't bother to flag the change in my library. Better to play the DOS version though, because Gold sucks.

This is fixed as of 08.02.2016. Please re-download the DMG file for the game or install it via Galaxy in order to have an El Capitan compatible version of the game :)
