I've just reinstalled my OS and was itching for a good oldies so i've reinstalled Wiz 8. Did the whole 3dSetup thingy, but the darned thing just doesn't have any sound coming out of it. Game works fine... just no music and no sound. My System spec is

Chipset: AMD FX-8350
Graphic: Sapphire 390X Tri-X
Driver for Graphics: Crimson ReLive 16.12.2 (was 16.12.1.... heck i'd even tried Crimson 16.3.1 from March, and whatever version of Crimson that was downloaded by Windows Update from fresh installation... i don't remember what version it was)
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64 bit
Compatibility Mode: Windows XP SP2

I've tried all the audio option that initialized (and even some that doesn't initialized) on 3dSetup and none of them have any sound coming out of it. I've installed Directx 9 redist and that didn't help either (yes i know game is using DirectX 7). I alt tabbed to see if there's any sound coming out of the game by going to the Volume Mixer, and lo and behold there is sound registering on both my Device and Wiz 8 (bar goes up and down on both the items). So ... the device is registering sound, just not outputting it to a speaker.

Is there any fix for this ? Is this the fault of Crimson/ReLive driver? Thank you for your time and help :D. Bear in mind again... this is a fresh install of OS, and i've uninstalled all the drivers for graphic cards with DDU.

PS: tried it on HoMM 2 and Might and Magic VI too... and same thing happened. But HoMM3 has no problem whatsoever ... which kinda boggles my mind here.

right click the icon and set it to 'run as admin'... also remove the xp compatibility because that does nothing in this case
Thank you for the reply ussnorway. I've tried it before and it didn't work. I did try it again after you posted your reply, just to make sure and it still didn't work.
I would press [windows key] + [r] and run the dxdiag
does the sound tab show any errors?
@ussnorway: i did as you've instructed but no... there's no error on it on the sound tab. I've checked Event Viewer too ... and there's none. It seems like everything should be working, because as I said, the device is registering sound, just not outputting to a speaker. To expand on it too, the PC is setup to connect to an AVR. I was thinking it might be HDMI problem that it doesn't pass it to the receiver.

Thank you again for your help.
Just to add info into this problem... or solution. I've downloaded the newer driver 16.12.2 but release of Jan 3(2017), instead of the non whql driver 16.12.2 that was released on Dec 19 (2016). There's a difference of about 200 MBish I think? Something is being done there, I don't know what, but the audio is running now. Game is running perfect now :D.
