Hey everyone, I have tried looking everywhere on the internet and can't find an answer to my question. A rogue gets a bonus to locks and traps skill so they can get it up to 125. Are there any chests/doors/etc. anywhere in the game that require a locks and traps skill above 100?

Also, is it possible to get a Bard up to 125 locks and traps with any armor or equipment?

Thanks in advance for anyone who can shed some light on this.

No skill goes above 100 in normal play so that a no for the Bard question. IMO as a Bard / Gadit (locks party) A skill of 80 will open anything you find in group game.
You can find wands that cast the knock spell and of course the magic users in the party can as well.

There's the Thieves Buckler, which gives L&T +10 and is handy to keep in your backpack (unless you're using a Ninja). I think one of the Bard specialty items gives +5 as well. So you COULD go up to at least 115, but as ussnorway pointed out there's not much reason for that since nothing requires more than 80.

Having a skill over 80 will help reduce the time spent on very difficult locks, though, like the ones on Ascension Peak or the Nessie chest.
Thanks to ussnorway and bevinator for the quick replies and for clarifying this for me.

Without having to use my Thief for Locks and Traps, I can use him as a front-line dps machine and allow my bard to handle the Locks and Traps skill.

I tend to always play with Flamestryke's Mod. I admit I don't have any experience with any other mods for Wiz 8. I saw the post on GOG where a bunch of mods are listed but I haven't tried any of them.

Any recommendations on other mods besides Flamestryke?
There is no item with locks&traps bonus for bards in Wiz8 vanilla,
i think bevinator refered to the Tinkerall Bracers(+20Str,+5L&T), can be used by gadgeteers only.

The most dificult locks can be picked by single specialist with combined skill of ~80.
It requires some patience ;)
But since knock knock spells from different characters add up,
some knock picks will even help parties without appropriate caster in such rare cases of 8 tumblers.

Traps may require higher skill, especially if you dont like to savescum or play IM,
but a PL7 Divine Traps provides a huge bonus.

Best way to train L&T is by repeteadly examining a trap,
e.g. in the barracks of Umpani Base Camp where an unintendedly sprung trap does not matter.
In case move your mouse to the inspect button, tape the sensor and hit lmb for several hours :D
You wont want to waste lvl up points in skills you can easily train.

For most if not all Wiz8 mods in english check http://www.zimlab.com/wizardry/mods/wiz8mods.htm
Describing the mods in detail would brake this message,
the elder ones at the bottom "only" change gameplay,
while the later ones include deeper changes on game mechanics, plot and also new locations,
since the editor is constantly improved.
Be warned that the difficculty in Dodds, Reforged and White Wolf mod is HUGE compared to Flamestrykes.
btw for Reforged mod 1.1 you may also want to add this fix which has not yet found its way to snafarus site:

For latest version, fixes and hints on White Wolf Mod check this thread:
